Assets of a private foundation may be used to establish a donor advised fund, an unrestricted fund, a field of interest fund, a scholarship fund or a designated fund. Depending on the type of fund that is established, the private foundation's Board of Trustees often stays involved in setting grant-making priorities, advising on grant awards, and assessing grant success.
Establishing a donor advised fund can typically be accomplished within an hour. The Foundation staff makes the grantmaking process easy, effective, and enjoyable for our donor advisors. To download a brief booklet that describes Donor Advised funds, please click here.
Please review our Standard Grantmaking Process and our Legal Issues and Policies documents, and then contact the Foundation staff with any questions.
