Professional Advisors and the Community Foundation
Developing a charitable plan that takes into account your client's financial and charitable needs is no small task. As a professional advisor, the opportunity you have to help your clients achieve their philanthropic goals is both a privilege and a challenge. We consider attorneys, accountants, financial planners, insurance agents, and other professionals who have relationships with donors to be valued partners in charitable giving. This section of the web site provides tools and information to help you ensure that your clients receive the full benefit of their contributions while supporting the charities of their choice. Serving Your Clients The Community Foundation wants to be a resource for you, as well as a philanthropic partner for your clients. A full understanding of the many possibilities of charitable giving, which can offer specific tax benefits, can also help your clients achieve financial, personal or business goals. The Community Foundation staff members have an outstanding reputation for integrity and service to donors and has developed unique resources for you to use in helping donors craft their charitable giving plans. For example, your clients have several options to consider as they explore giving through our Community Foundation:
The type of fund that best meets their charitable giving goal
The type of gifts to make as they initiate and grow the fund, and
How they will involve themselves, and other family members, in the giving process.
Detailed information about all donor options are available the "Becoming a Donor" section of this website. If your client is considering the creation of a private foundation, the Foundation strongly encourages you to have them explore the advantages a community foundation can offer. More details on this issue can be found in Private Foundation Options.
